Chris has built a broad-ranging commercial practice over the past 25 years in corporations law generally; trust law generally; property law, with particular emphasis on residential / commercial conveyancing and leasing; and intellectual property, including copyright and domain names, licensing and distribution agreements.
Chris has extensive expertise in all aspects of franchising, including setting up systems and documentation, acting for large franchisors in dealing with day-to-day franchising problems, as well as acting for franchisees and potential franchisees.
His general commercial work includes advising in relation to buying / selling businesses, buying / selling shares and units in private companies and unit trusts, joint ventures and shareholders’ / unit holders’ agreements. Chris acts for administrators, receivers and managers, and liquidators in relation to the sale of businesses – advice and documentation in relation to the sales.
Professional affiliations include membership of the Franchise Council of Australia.

- Ultradata Australia – acted for Ultradata in relation to its acquisition of Corvis Pty Ltd;
- Capt'n Snooze – acted for the franchise chain for 25 years;
- The Natural Source – setting up the systems and documentation for a franchising system in Australia, documenting master franchises in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, U.A.E, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, France and Columbia; and
- Ultradata Australia – resolving a long running software copyright dispute through negotiation.
